OMG. You guys! shoemaster and I are running our VERY FIRST CHALLENGE! It's Due South, inspired by the endlessly fantastic Inuvik website. It would mean a HUGE amount to me if you guys would help pimp this to your flists, and/or sign up for a prompt. It's my first time doing anything like this, and I'm very nervous about whether it's going to be a success. But since justbreathe80 did such a fabulous job with getfraserlaid, I'm hoping we can pull it off too. Yay fandom! \o/

So I'm hanging with my friends last night, and we're talking about Facebook groups. One of them brings up a group I'm a member of: "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night Because the Sun Never Sets on Being Badass".

Awesome, right?

But then my other friend starts talking, and he's like, "Wouldn't it be cool if it were, like, Colonial times, but they had sunglasses – stick with me, guys (a side note: we were totally not sticking with him) – and some dude came up to some other dude who was wearing sunglasses, and it was night, and he was like, 'Why are you wearing sunglasses? It's night!' And the other guy was like 'I wear my sunglasses at night because the sun never sets on the British Empire.'"
