So, guess what I did today? If you guessed BALANCED MY CHECKBOOK, you win! Being as how I'm going to have to manage my own finances fairly soon, I've been asking my dad questions about money every two seconds. Like, "Why do I need a credit card AND a debit card?" And, "Where are the statements for my credit card going to be sent while I'm at college, and how specific will they be?" (Read: if I buy a vibrator, will you know about it?) Tell me your financial advice in the comments, my flist! Except "Pay your credit card bills on time" because I KNOW THAT ONE.
Anyway, it is all TRES exciting, and within the past week I have:
1. Made my very first credit card purchase. (Love Match by Keira Andrews, a gay romance ebook, which was FABULOUS and I loved it and recommend it highly. Do we know her?)
2. Written my very first check. (For my non-restricted driver's license. That's right, my loves: I can now drive between midnight and five in the morning, as well as have more than one non-family-member in the car with me! w00t!)
3. Sincerely regretted ever turning 18. Also, revelled in my adulthood. It's a mood-swingin' party.
In far, far more depressing news (although thankfully my parents are still willing to pay for this sort of thing), both my laptop Rodney and my external hard drive have decided to completely flake out on me. I don't even want to go into the gruesome details, but suffice it to say that Rodney is taking a little trip back to Apple for a bit, and I don't know when I'm getting him back. And my hard drive is equally fucked. AAARGH. Therefore, I may be more or less out of commission for a while, although I will probably have at least some internet access throughout the ordeal.
shoemaster suggested I should, quote, WRITE porn, in an old notebook with school notes that people will think is boring stuff should they pick it up and not even flip through the pages to the porn. *is so sneaky*
ANYWAY. THAT MIGHT HAPPEN.
