OMG, you guys, you know I love [livejournal.com profile] mistful, right? She wrote Ravenclaw Draco, and that WIP that's going on right now that is made of awesome. But I seriously, seriously have to rec the first part of her most recent WIP, which she posted earlier today: Drop Dead Gorgeous. And rather than try to actually summarize its amazingositude, I will leave you with two words: Veela Harry. VEELA. HARRY.

I think your use of the word amazingositude deserves applause all by itself. *nods firmly*

[livejournal.com profile] mistful is seriously so awesome.
Veela Harry...it has the potential for so much suckage, but yet in that fic it was so amazing.

but see, when I hear "Veela Harry", I immediately think that it has the possibility for SO MUCH AMAZING. Which is why it's such a disappointment to me that most people who DO write cracked-out summaries like that tend to write them SHITTY. *draws infinite hearts around [livejournal.com profile] mistful*

Dude, whatever happened to our Slashtastic RSO? XP Maya is totally worthy of a fandom of her very own. There was this kid in Woyzec named Woody who - I swear - looks exactly like Maya's Draco. He eats at Pierce, so maybe you've seen him. Tall, skinny, impossibly blonde, and slightly fey.

Oh! PS - I wanted to check out that show you're obsessed with over christmas break. you know, the one we were talking about on our way to H&M? Due something...

I don't knoooow. Also, whatever happened to me calling you? *fails* I have not seen this Draco Doppelganger, and that makes me SAD. :(

DUDE DUDE YOU NEED TO SEE IT. You will looove iiit. Due South! Are you, ahem, averse to somewhat less legal methods of acquiring episodes?

Less than legal? All I care about is "is it free?"

Although, if it's out on DVD and not a new release I can get it for free and legally. (benefits of being a former employee of a video store)

Your less than legal way would be appriciated as a back up, though ^_^

As to the calling me, do you have my 610 number? I had some cell phone confusion earlier this year and am not sure which number any person has, but if you have the number that starts 610, we're good ;-D

I, um, I don't know? I left my phone in a friend's room, and I can't get to it until tomorrow. If you comment here and then delete it, the comment will get emailed to me?

Oh, totally random HP related story. So I went to Occam's the other night and they were doing this "interview a fake rockband" game where they all sit down and do a "behind the music" style interview as they're trying to figure out what kind of rock band they are. So someone asked "What was the most magical concert you ever did" and the response was "That would have to be our concert at Hogwarts" etc, etc, later in the Hogwarts answer one of the members chimes "I mean, Siriusly"

... yeah, I was like one of 4 people that laughed. It made my night, though!

HEE. I would have laughed. Unless I was being more than usually slow on the uptake, and then I would have gone "Hey, why is everyone else laughing? OH. HAH," a beat later. YAY DORKS.

Reasons I'm no longer in HP anymore...Your post is ABOUT HP, and I look at your icon and first thought is: "....Starbuck?"

WHORE THAT IS A RIDICULOUS THOUGHT. And now I am obsessed with Draco Malfoy drunkenly mouthing off in a space ship. And Harry would totally be Lee, which makes for a far awesomer version of Lee/Kara, and... shut up shut up why am I thinking about this?

Read [livejournal.com profile] mistful's stuff, even though you're not in HP. Srsly. doooo it.

I cannot see Harry=Lee. Explain.

Dude, if I was ever going to read Maya's stuff I would've done it like 4 years ago.

Angsty dark-haired boy who is self-obsessed and eats his feelings and talks in capslock? Okay, yes, it is a little stretch, but WORK with me here.

Aww, but her stuff wasn't that good 4 years ago! It has become unfuckingbelievable as a reaction to HBP, with that complex Draco and his fucked-up problems and his vulnerabilities... at least, that's my theory. And she's an awesome writer, too; read them as original fic, if you want, and they'll still be good. Just... here, from Ravenclaw!Draco:

"Your hair is like a wasteland after war, with no survivors, thorns where fields should be and despair all around. Know that," was probably going too far.

He discovered that she had an encyclopaedic knowledge of all their text books already, and he congratulated himself on picking the best study partner with his usual brilliance. He was also happy to note that she didn't know a few perfectly elementary things, and was grateful for help. He foresaw a beautiful symbiotic relationship, and having the most perfect flow charts in the land.

"Nothing is true! None of the vile lies being spread about me are true!" shouted Draco, and the rest of the class turned around to give Draco 'wethinks the gay gentleman in back doth protest too much' looks.

He made a sound of hatred and Hermione soothingly did all their work.

And... and there's adorable obliviousness and unreliable narrator hijinx and it is SO CUTE and READ IT BEFORE I REACH THROUGH THIS COMPUTER AND MAKE YOU.
