So, I thought the number one person who could call me on it if I faked my own death was
custardpringle, since she lives in my building. But then I mentioned this to her, and she brought up the fact that I sleep all day, every day, and she hasn't actually SEEN me in two weeks, and she wouldn't actually KNOW if I died. Still, I think the school would notify people, wouldn't it? Maybe? There'd be an email or something, surely.
I'm a bit late posting this, I suppose, but I don't at all object to stuff arriving after Christmas. Then you're expecting it even less, so it's even more fun! Yay holidays!
The Rules:
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishlist
1. Cards! Any kind of cards; holiday, postcard, anything you have sitting around. My address is here (locked post). If you're not on my flist, and would like my address, just email me privately at my LJ account, or comment here anonymously, or whatever floats your boat.
2. Fic. I think we all know my taste by now, and that taste is GIRL. Happy, silly, romances, with misunderstandings and jealousy and a happy ending. I'm not asking that you write me fic, although that would be LOVELY; mostly, I'm asking for recs and links.
3. Look, I'm sorry, but I really badly want well-written mpreg. I'm sorry! It's true. People I especially want pregnant include Ray Kowalski, Jared Padalecki, Dan Jarvis (OMG, picture Duck's reaction. He would be thrilled. He would probably touch Dan's belly really tenderly with both hands), Napoleon Solo, and Dan Rydell.
4. Phone calls, oh, wow, phone calls. I would LOVE to talk to some fangirls this holiday season (after December 9th, when finals end.) My phone number is in the same post as my address.
5.Sparkly lip gloss I hesitate to link to it at all, because... bad associations, but if you are feeling especially kind, you could take a glance at my Amazon Wish List.
6. More paid account time would be fantastic.
7. A largish pretty poster or wall hanging for the bare wall in my dorm room. It's right across from my bed, and it's very white and very depressing.
8. Old paperbacks you like, but don't have room for anymore. Especially, uhm, romance novels? A great opportunity to clean out your bookcase! I'll read just about anything.
9. Oh my God, an icon or picture of Fraser with his TATTOO. Jesus. Is there even a screencap out there of Fraser's lower back? I don't know. Whatever! This is my WISH list, not my REALITY list.
10. Printed fic, especially zines.
shoemaster has one, and I wants it. Perfect for the plane ride back to school after Christmas break!

But then, yeah, Duck is thrilled! And he likes to rest his head on Dan's belly, listening for the heart beat. And I think they have a little girl, and Duck is just the best daddy ever and Dan is a bit of a worrier, but she adores them both because they're her dads.
(...really long way of saying I so agree with you. Also on the Ray and Jared front, too)
And I can probably hook you up on the Romance Novel front.
And, uh...

And Duck and Fraser would be making them eat ALL THE TIME because they're both so SKINNY.

And then, at night, when they go to bed, Fraser spoons up behind Ray and rests his hands on his belly, telling them stories until Ray falls asleep, but Fraser can still feel his little girl moving around, so keeps talking and rubbing soft circles until she falls asleep, too.

WHY doesn't everyone love mpreg, Allison? WHY? Are they just CRUEL, HEARTLESS SOULS?
