Gahhhh, flist, it has been A Week. And if I had to get horrendously sick to my stomach, possibly with food poisoning, why did it have to happen on the weekend so I didn't even miss work? NOT COOL. That's part of why I haven't been very posty, by the way - real life, why so unpredictably invasive into my internets time?
Regarding memes: I always have anonymous commenting turned on in my journal, and I wouldn't know the first thing to do with an IP, so if you want to tell me something brutally honest, my ears (eyes) are always open. I'm being serious, I truly don't mind. (Although, uh, maybe not tonight, if possible, because of the aforementioned Week.) I'd much prefer that you tell me anonymously, though, because if you do it under your name then I will feel awkward about telling you your fic made me hot or whatever, you know? That's so uncomfortable!
Um, just kidding, obviously, you can always talk to me about anything under your name or in email as well. /paranoid eta
And also, that wasn't meant to be a passive-aggressive defense of anonymous criticism, I think it's horribly rude to do that to someone who hasn't asked for it! I'm just, you know, asking for it. /second paranoid eta
I should probably also say, while I'm at it, that I very much like some anonymous memes (though certainly not all, and DEFINITELY not all the people who participate). I don't think they're inherently evil, and I'm probably not going to stop hanging out on them, even though they often include things that make me roll my eyes or want to punch a wall. I have never used anonymity as an excuse to say something I'm ashamed of, and I hope that if you know me you know that. I feel terrible for people who get their feelings hurt, and I've had people say bad things about me anonymously as well. But I also think there are things about anonymity that are good - things like weird jokes arising out of nowhere, and people saying things they'd be too shy or embarrassed (which is not the same as ashamed) to say under their names. Nobody is a no-name fan on an anonymous meme, or everyone is, I suppose, and I like that. Your mileage may vary.
In other news, my real life best friend wrote Frank/Gerard. It's her very first fanfic EVER, so if you like it, let her know! :D

(Ugh, I can spell.)
Also, I do agree that some things in anon are definitely amusing as hell or more freeing, yes - which just reminds me of how I discovered at MJ that someone I had been anonymously talking to on one of Liz's anonymous posts was totally the same person I'd just been talking too for half the afternoon about, uh, a similar topic. HILARITY ENSUED. /vague ftw!

At least if you're already sick you can't catch whatever god awful bug The Cab is carrying this week! (Or so
When you get a chance email me your address - I think I'm picking you up on Saturday. :)

That is the only thing I have to add right now. I'm not feeling particularly intelligent at the moment - probably because I have work to do and my brain's being all "Oh, you need me? Sorry, this is my scheduled coffee break that's going to last until just about the time your paper is due... HA!"
