So, um, I just got in my very first car accident! I'm fine, everyone's fine, nobody was hurt. I wasn't driving, either. But it was kind of scary. Basically, my friend was driving me home from the shore and we ran a stop sign, and some car slammed into the front of our car on the driver's side. Both cars are pretty damaged; there's a big dent in my friend's car, and the front wheel is all knocked out of alignment, and the airbags released in the other car. The other people were super nice, and they kept asking if we were OK.

But we were wearing our seatbelts! *proud*

I had a fantastic time at the beach; I am sandy and sunburned and my hair is like straw. I love the Jersey Shore so much. Next stop: Maine!

Holy shit! I'm very glad you're all right. Car accidents are terrifying. I was just in my first one where I was driving. Not fun. Not fun at ALL.

I was pretty freaked out, honestly! I seem to be developing a bruise on my hip from my seatbelt, but other than that I am A-OK. Still, I have absolutely NO desire to ever, ever experience THAT again. Especially from the driver's seat. Mental Note to Self: Car accidents not fun! Try to avoid if poss.

There's a reason they're called stop signs. Oh well, I'm sure your friend will be kicking themselves for years to come as they get their insurance bills...

Not that I want to come off as insensitive here (and, God do I feel old doing this, 23 isn't that much older), I was just in a car accident last month, and it sucks. And it was scary. I was shaking for about an hour. But it sucks even more if you're the cause.

Hopefully the damage isn't too much to repair. *crosses fingers for your friend*

Yeah, I feel really bad for him. It's just, he's not a bad driver, really, but he hasn't been driving that long. Yesterday was his first real highway driving, and he did so well, and then this happened. And it really could have happened to anyone; everyone has lapses of attention every so often. His just happened to be at exactly the wrong time.

uhm, the Maine Cow Palace (http://www.mainecowpalace.com/)? It's in Stockton Springs. Yeah, I've never heard of it.

I spent half of my junior year in Maine! Do you live anywhere near Wiscasset, or Bath? I go by that area at least once a year.

Awww! Yeah, I am really enjoying my summer. Usually I am not a beach person, but I'm loving it this year, for some reason. Still, think of it this way: when I'm frozen to death in Chicago come January, you'll be nice and warm!
