I was just watching Degrassi, and Taking Back Sunday was guest starring, and there was some throwaway line about Adam Lazzara hitting someone in the head with a microphone, and I know JUST enough about the Long Island wing of bandom to know that there's some epic bitchfight regarding swinging microphones...? Does anyone have any insight? That boy is pretty cute, I must admit, but I just can't bring myself to learn all that canon. That shit seems COMPLICATED.

hmm, I feel like it crosses a line when you direct the person back to something about his/herself that makes him/her uncomfortable and deals with their personal life. Like whoever sent Mikeyway the waycest link crossed a HUGE line, because it's so clearly something Mikey's not gonna be comfortable seeing and it ties into his real life. This vid is a fanvid that in no way refers to any of the artist's personal lives. So I see no problem with linking him to the video, the only concerns are that your journal isn't exactly free of line-crossing material, and the journal the link is on may not be either. Then again, being bandomers who deal mostly with line-crossing material, perhaps it's best if we don't dance closer and closer to that line and instead avoid all internet contact with the bands... :-/

Oh man, the microphone swinging! ::Grins:: As much as I love the Patrick/Travis vibes, there's just something so deliciously bizarre about ~~Team Gay Bastards~~ the epic canon bitchfest of Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, and Straylight Run.

Okay! It gets complicated, let me tell you, but without going into too much detail Adam Lazzara and John Nolan were in the original line up of Taking Black Sunday. John's ~~homosexual life partner~~ bestest childhood friend is the VERY bitchy, VERY possessive, and not entirely sane Jesse Lacey (from the band Brand New), and John's sister, Michelle Nolan, is dating Adam Lazzara. There's a lot of sniping back and forth between bands (which is--I am not kidding--captured in very homoerotic angry songs, and one very sad love song spread over about three records each) but Adam cheats on Michelle, so John leaves TBS to form Straylight Run. Jesse Lacey, angry on behalf of John and Michelle and just generally hating on Adam, starts selling t-shirts at Brand New Shows that say "Mics are for singing, not swinging." Taking Back Sunday fires back with their own self-designed merch, and a truly bitchy, passive aggressive feud develops in the press and at concerts. And it's STILL GOING ON. It's alternately hilarious and a little sad, but mostly it's gayer than Christmas.

And don't worry about it, Jesse Lacey is one of those boys who looks different in every picture. I'm a fan of Brand New, and every time I see a photo I have to remind myself who I'm looking at!
