So, I'm following this Panic! website thing with avid interest. Their site has been replaced by a blank page, but if you check the source code, you get this:
<!--
Oh, hello
Glad you could make it
Did you have any trouble finding the place?
Hope you enjoy
-->
There's been a new line added every day; the first time I checked it just said "Oh, hello". They also got rid of all the graphics on their MySpace, and put out a MySpace bulletin with the subject line "Oh, hello" which contained only this image and the words "and so it begins..." linking to their website.
I AM INTRIGUED. Ryan Ross, your wacky viral marketing thingy is working. I've been looking for hidden directories and stuff, but so far, nothing. Hmmmmmm!
ETA: Lolz also, I forgot to say:
ETA2: EEEEEEEEEE FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. "You don't have to worry"?

"Nine in the Afternoon," which the band road-tested on summer gigs, is about "all of the things you get caught up in while you're in a band ... then coming back and realizing that it's just fun making music with your four best friends," Ross says.OH RYRO, TOO STONED TO COUNT. ♥ ♥ Or else he is his own best friend. ♥ ♥ ♥
ETA2: EEEEEEEEEE FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. "You don't have to worry"?

I can't even...guh. I love all of these bands. My Chemical Romance? I love them so deeply and passionately that it drives people around me absolutely nuts. With Panic! it's different. All of that passionate love is still there but there's like this other level of...I don't know how to describe it. It's just that they're my age. These are guys that I could have gone to school with, you know? It just makes me proud to know that they're so young and they've done so much. I want them to keep succeeding.
I have no problem listening to their first album all day long. I feel like the more I hear it, the more things I find to love about it. I want to hear the entire album with single instruments. Like, an all drum version. An all guitar version. There's nothing on it that seems superfluous to me. Everything worked together to create this fantastic piece of work.
Okay, I'm rambling. But yes...new album...I'm excited.

I honestly don't know how this album is going to be received. I have no idea. I know a lot of people will hate it. But I'm so proud of their stupid FACES for doing their own thing no matter what. ♥ ♥

Me too! They change and they're all, "I don't care if you don't like it. WE like it. Boo-yah!" Oh boys.
I think fans who are reluctant to change might not like it. They want them to follow the same path that they did for the last album. But I'm hoping that their fan base will expand anyway. And I know there are lots of older fans (and mature young fans) but I've been hanging out over at the Panic! comm and I'm getting more and more annoyed with the comments I've been reading. They sound like 10 year olds.
