  • Regarding politics - I think that it's interesting that people are coming up with all these "choose the candidate by the issues" polls and gadgets, given that a) for the first time in pretty much ever, the major candidates have shockingly informative and detailed websites, and b) all the major candidates in this election would be virtually interchangeable to a random time-traveler passing through, in terms of actual policies. My reasons for supporting Obama in this election have only a little bit to do with his policies, and I'm not ashamed of that. This article does a good job of explaining at least one reason why you might give Obama a chance, beyond a bullet-point list of his positions. The news shows I've been watching have been trying to reduce the word "change" to the meaninglessness of "family values," and I think they're wrong. (To be fair, I'm also 19, and more than a little idealistic.)

  • I have a job! It's pretty cool! Unfortunately, I have way less time to be online. Oh god, catching up on my flist is going to be like this EVERY night, isn't it. D: I could do a flist cut, but I like everyone on my flist! THIS IS AWFUL. THIS IS HOW RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE FEEL.

  • I have officially reached my limit on planning for this weekend. I am not a planner under the best of circumstances, and basically, I AM DONE. The end! That is all. I will post my phone number in a locked post immediately after I post this and then that's it. Life, do with me what you will, I have no more patience for these planning shenanigans. I'm still looking for a CT ticket, but by "looking" I mean "hoping one falls into my lap." MAYBE I will get it together and pack some underwear, BUT I'M NOT PROMISING ANYTHING OKAY

  • And now I go out for ice cream.

ETA: Now, with new and improved LINKS THAT WORK. Fuck this shit, I need a nap.

Man, a whole generation of kids are going to be getting their PoliSci information from a guy who can't use capital letters. At least his information was accurate, so that's better than nothing.

I was an Obama fangirl 5 minutes after his speech at the '04 Democratic National Con. So I'm pleased that Pete Wentz is using his Poli Sci major to speak intelligently on the subject.
