I had a lovely time at [livejournal.com profile] celli's apartment Saturday night! On our way there, [livejournal.com profile] etben and I waited for the damn bus for forty minutes, even though it's supposed to come every six. Awesome, CTA. Another win for y'all. But we entertained ourselves by chatting about bandslash and porn and other fascinating topics. Oh man, and I legitimately freaked out when she told me she thought she saw Andy Hurley IN REAL LIFE the other day up in Belmont, wearing a Stay Gold hoodie – I did this weird full-body wriggle thing and clapped my hands over my mouth. I have to admit, that was my first little RPS panic attack! Living in Chicago and being involved in bandslash is kind of crazy, because so many band boys are from here – all of Fall Out Boy, JWalk from Panic! at the Disco, Bob from My Chemical Romance, all (probably?) of The Academy Is. God, if I ever see Pete Wentz in real life crossing a street or macking on a fifteen-year-old or something, I honestly don't know what I'll do. FLIP OUT, probably. And Jon freaking Walker would probably give me a heart attack, at this point. Let's not even talk about a certain Mr. Stump. Oh, wow. It's a good thing for my mental health that none of those boys are likely to ever come down to my neighborhood – I can't really see Pete deciding he desperately needs to visit the Museum of Science and Industry, can you? It seems unlikely. Also, dudes, the South Side is not somewhere I would feel particularly safe if I were a tiny boy in girls' pants and eyeliner. Just sayin'.

I've met so many fangirls in real life now, especially compared with this time last year, when I hadn't met any at all (also, I was underage, ahahaha), and it just – never freaking STOPS being wonderful to finally meet people I feel like I've known forever, like [livejournal.com profile] fairestcat and [livejournal.com profile] researchgrrrl, as well as people I've never encountered at all who are clearly awesome (I have NO IDEA what your usernames are, sorry!), and of course, to spend time again with the people I've already met ([livejournal.com profile] slodwick and [livejournal.com profile] celli and [livejournal.com profile] lovelokest, and the usual suspects). It made MJ seem like less of a fever dream, and more like something that actually happened. I wish we'd made nametags, though, because I still have no idea who half the people there were. Highlights of the night included:
  • [livejournal.com profile] researchgrrrl and [livejournal.com profile] slodwick forming a kind of support group to get me to watch an episode of Supernatural, despite my extreme aversion to horror and scary movies. I made it all the way through without having to flee to the other room! I can definitely see why y'all like that show, even though I couldn't possibly watch it by myself EVER. And I'm kind of incredibly charmed by Dean and Sam (not in a Wincesty way, of course). I am EASY: this, we knew.

  • [livejournal.com profile] slodwick, completely deadpan, reading out the awful clues from the game we were playing. Man, there badly need to be icons of those clues. "I need licking before the pricking," indeed. I have to say, the dream team of [livejournal.com profile] shrift and me rocked that game, especially considering she was doped to the gills with DayQuil! Not that it was a very hard game – it was clearly designed for people who were either a lot stupider or a lot more drunk than we were.

  • [livejournal.com profile] lovelokest bestowing upon me lots and lots of Entourage, because she is an ANGEL.

I seem to be continuing this theme of dreams about people/characters I've never met? I had about SIX Friday night, and I ended up getting a notebook to put by my bed so I wouldn't forget them all, although I know I missed a few. Here's the transcription of my notes for posterity, absolutely verbatim:
  • Patrick -> met him at [my high school, in the] lower school hallway. I had his hat. He stopped me and was like, hey, the brim of your hat is messed up, and he fixed it for me awkwardly and then he kind of started to walk away and then was like, actually it's my hat, and I was really embarrassed and apologetic about how I just found it somewhere (but actually I stole it) and he was like hey, no, it looks better on you, but I gave it back anyway. And then I think we were in love

  • Gerard Way pov (I wasn't him though) – fans pissed at him for [Frank] being sick, I think Mikey updated my livejournal (?) or theirs or something, it was all about tour dates and Pete Wentz, fans saying he (gerard) was getting to be like Pete Wentz, and he even looked like him, and he wrote messages to Pete on fans' arms in pen to give him advice. Someone got their nipple pierced

  • Some guy and Draco [Malfoy] are brothers who ran off to be fairies (separately) but the other guy is evil and raped this girl I think but didn't get punished enough + I was friends with Rosie O'Donnell and we went shopping at Express and I was in this abusive relationship with rape guy

  • Allison sent me an email talking about Gerard and working on this radio show?

I DON'T KNOW, YOU GUYS. Clearly, it was important to clarify that Draco and his rapist brother ran away to be fairies SEPARATELY.

1) your full-body freakout was kind of awesome. Just saying. I may have to start hanging out in Belmont more, if this is the sort of thing that can result.

2) yay fangirls! and yay also dirty clues. *points at new lj-name*

3) ...your mind is a scary place. And, I mean, I knew this! but at the same time, damn. DAMN.

4) Why do I have no bandslash icons? Why am I such a hooker?*

*although not as much of a hooker as Pete Wentz is, obviously. I could probably have sex for money and still not be as much of a hooker as Pete Wentz is.

1) I try to entertain with my spazziness. *g*

2) ahahaha, my gmail notifier just popped up to inform me that I need a licking before the pricking (etben) had replied to my post. \o/

3) dude, it is SCARIER when you are INSIDE IT. o_0

4) I DON'T KNOW. I am constantly saddened that I can't upload MORE bandslash icons!

BEST EVER AHAHAHAHA

Obviously they couldn't run away to be fairies TOGETHER. That would be kind of gay, don't you think?

re: your dreams.

I love that it goes bandslashbandslashbandslashDRACOMALFOY!bandslash *g*

(though if fanon is to be believed he totally fits in with the tiny boys wearing girls pants and eyeliner motif)

Also, as regards fanish meetups. I'm totally jealous. They are so much fun.

I don't know! You should call me for the next meetup. I don't think I have met [livejournal.com profile] etben yet. This should be rectified.

Yeah, Rosie = weird.

The rapist thing? not throwing me so much. This possibly says something bad about my social conditioning.

Similarly, how when asked why I'm carrying around a watergun by someone not in my house I blithely reply "to assasinate my housemates" and somehow this is not unutterably bizzare and twisted

Absolutely! YAY!

God, dreaming about me sending you emails about Gerard Way? When do I EVER do that?

And wheeeeee last night was so fun.

the South Side is not somewhere I would feel particularly safe if I were a tiny boy in girls' pants and eyeliner. Just sayin WERD. Of course, Joe Troh apparently lives in my neighborhood. Which really makes me want to get a Trohs before Hos shirt and just wander around.

AHAHAHA. I know. I'm pretty sure the question mark was for the working at a radio station thing, but man, I wish I had written down more details. That is all I've got! SADLY!

yesssss

TROHS BEFORE HOS

I really, really wish you WOULD do that. AMAZING. He would be totally thrilled by that, too, you know it. (also, I just wrote some F/K-y gen, where did that come from? I don't get my brain at ALL)

Fangirls, yay! :D

(on the DVDs, I can't remember if I mentioned this or not but I know they work using a computer and I assume that they will work in a regular DVD player)

YAY FANGIRLS.

(man, I do not even OWN a DVD player, so the point is kind of moot. Oh, broke-ass college students ftw.)
