OH MY GOD. I always forget how dependent on LJ I am, until it goes down and I go mental. I kept going oh, I don't need to check my flist, I'll just read some fic! BUT I COULDN'T BECAUSE IT WAS ALL ON LJ. DD: I ended up having a Buffy Renaissance, and reading a whole lot of Spike/Xander, because it was the only fandom I could think of that was old enough to have websites. In the process, I had the magnificently unexpected revelation that Loserville, which is a fic I remember loving and saving to my computer in like... 2003? 2004? when I was, ahahaha, so very underage? was actually written by
shrift!!! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? I went to the Honda Civic Tour with you,
shrift, and I never even knew that you wrote one of my personal favorite fics from all of sophomore year of high school! Oh, fandom. ♥
Anyway, here's the post I typed up during my break today at work and then couldn't post because of the outage:
Sigh, I really wish someone would write some good fic! This fandom sure suffers for lack of awesome fic, lately.
HAHAHAHAHA JUST KIDDING OMFG. THERE HAS BEEN SO MUCH GOOD STUFF IN THE PAST FEW DAYS, YOU GUYS!!! SO MUCH! LET'S TALK ABOUT IT SRSLY.
Ryan Ross: Wedding Planner (What We Do Is Love) by

Y'all, this features a pairing (Brendon/Ryan) that is not my favorite, and yet I ADORED it. OH GOSH. It's just insanely adorable, without being saccharine or losing any of the fabulous bitchiness of Ryan and Spencer, and oh man, I really love it a lot. I always kind of wonder what it would have been like for Ryan to meet Spencer much later in life, not to have had that experience of growing up with his best friend. Tragedy! And yet, the way they bond in this fic totally makes up for it.

GO READ THIS RIGHT NOW I AM NOT JOKING. This is long, emotionally satisfying Pete/Patrick age reversal, and it owns my SOUL. Ohhhhh yes. This is so fantastically executed, and so sweet and sharp and asdfkajsdlfj read it. READ IT.

Just in case you didn't get the memo to read everything she writes EVER: read everything she writes ever.

I'm pretty sure MSC tried to explain this to me before it was posted and I completely failed to get it. Like, completely. Which - let's be fair, here, it's kind of hard to summarize! For that reason, I'm going to tell you two things, in order, and you need to pay a lot more attention to the first one than to the second, okay? 1) This fic is fantastic and you should go read it right now. 2) This is the story where all of the boys in FOB have reversed ages, and also there is wingfic and telepathy and some other stuff. And Andy Hurley is a single teenage mom. Uhm. ANYWAY GO READ IT!

This is the Frank/Gerard epic of my HEART. It's a big, long, sweeping thing that covers the whole chronology of the band, and it's just exactly what I wanted for this pairing, and it has realistic angst and pining and misunderstandings and it's basically awesome, go read it, go read it.
Wow, I bet I'm forgetting a ton of other awes fic, too. What am I forgetting? Rec me stuff, everybody!

I kind of liked The Grim Adventures of Patrick and Peter (http://community.livejournal.com/peterickfics/102657.html#cutid1). Kind of cracktastic but FUN when it's 2 am and you can't sleep and have class at 8.

I would settle for fic where Patrick feels like he doesn't deserve Pete, and it's not just an authorial set-up to show off his sweet woobie-like insecurity and masochism and vulnerability, it's actually that Pete is fucking AMAZING. That would be something I would enjoy!

I KNOW, RIGHT? I was watching that interview everyone was linking to a couple weeks ago (Mikey and Gerard on Blairing out?) and a) Mikey is wearing his Midtown hoodie and b) they talk about how Midtown totally support them when they were getting started.
